# Variables

These settings are actual for Start steps only and allows to initialize necessary variables when process instance starts.

Click "add" link and populate variable names (required) and (optionally) values.

If variable names are not unique, or contain spaces or any other symbols except letters, numbers and underscore, system will show warnings:
