In the process builder, click **Open Process Settings** in the **Actions** menu to open the **Edit Process Settings** window. {% hint style="info" %} Gantt Settings are not allowed for sub-processes. They will be inherited from the parent process. {% endhint %} ## Starting release 8.7 Navigate to the **Gantt Settings** tab: ![](/files/66dcba05ccce739053a67d12ec2d0b71e3b65d0f) The following settings may be modified on the **Gantt Settings** tab: * **Calculate dates before starting the process** — If turned on, a [Planned Record](/processes/working-with-processes/process-details-page.md#records-subtab) will be created when the Process Instance is created. This Planned Record will have Planned Start and End Dates calculated for each active, pending, and future step. These are actual dates for **Date Driven** calculation modes. In **Duration Driven** calculation mode, dates are shown for estimation purposes only and are not saved. * **Default calculation mode** — Select how future steps' dates will be updated when a date/duration of a preceding step is changed. See the [dedicated knowledge article](/functional/gantt-chart/dates-durations-and-their-calculation/step-calculation-modes.md) to learn more. * **How to handle manual date changes** — Select how steps should behave when their dates are changed. {% hint style="info" %} Starting release 8.7, the **Calculate durations** feature is deprecated. {% endhint %} **Calculate dates before starting the process** is applicable for steps with Calculation Mode set to Date Driven (Soft or Hard). The calculation mode can be set on a particular step in the Gantt chart or for all process steps by selecting the desired Default Calculation Mode. * **Show Issues** — If turned on, tasks and issues added for a step will be displayed in the Gantt chart like other steps, whether in progress or completed. This can be useful for process managers or assignees and will behave like additional steps. When this checkbox is shown, a picklist will be displayed with options that filter the issues displayed: all, in progress, or completed. ![](/files/f89c8959fbd9f375c3db507c4c61643aa9a058cc) Notes: * These issues do not affect step durations. * These issues will shift [dates](/processes/working-with-processes/forecasted-dates-and-durations.md) of subsequent steps properly depending on their End dates. * Issues added for a particular step will be shown directly after that step. * Issues added for [all steps](/functional/tasks-and-issues/create-task-or-issue-from-task-manager-dashboard.md#new-task-or-issue) will be shown under the last step in the Gantt chart. * **Additional Access** — Specific access to Gantt editing can be provided to users, roles, or profiles, whether they are step assignees or not, by selecting them in the appropriate field. Access can be granted to Process Manager(s) and Instance Manager(s) separately using the appropriate checkboxes. Otherwise, durations will be shown as formulas and calculated dynamically each time you open the Gantt chart of a planned or started record. * **Default calculation mode** — Select how future steps' dates will be updated when a date/duration of a preceding step is changed. Additionally, quickly define access for Process Manager(s) and Instance Manager(s) using the checkboxes.
