# Audit of changes in process

Starting release 8.2, when a Process is modified, an audit record will be automatically created. This provides the ability to review the updates that have been performed on a Process over time. Users can track main changes in the Process performed in [Process Builder](/processes/building-a-process/process-builder-overview.md).

When saving updates to a Process, it is best practice to enter Comments, so that users reviewing the audit trail can quickly understand what changes were made and the reason for them.

This history is available on the Audit Trail tab of the [Process Details](/processes/working-with-processes/process-details-page.md) page.

The Audit Trail table may be filtered by Process Version, author of the last modification, and modification date range. The table displays the following information:

* Modified Date
* Modified By
* Process Version
* Comments

If the Process modification has contains trackable changes, the Modified Date may be clicked and further audit details will be displayed.
