* Select an **Object**. This will also populate the "Step" picklist with steps existing in the selected process instance.
* Select a **Step** to associate the Task/Issue with a particular step, or leave this field set to the default "\[All Steps]" value to relate the Task/Issue to the entire process.
* Toggle **Lock Workflow** on if the Task/Issue must be completed before the active Process Instance step(s) can be proceeded/approved/rejected.

### Buttons

Four action buttons are available to display on Tasks and Issues: [Accept, Restart, Hold and Complete](/functional/tasks-and-issues/how-to-manage-tasks-and-issues.md). The following configuration options are available for each button:

* **"Enable"** checkboxes - When checked, the respective button will be displayed on the Task/Issue (available from version 4.1).
* **Label** - Defines the text that will be displayed on the button.

## Related task/issue

A **Related Task/Issue** may be created from the **Tasks/Issues Component** of an open work item by clicking the "**Create Issue**" button (+). The open work item will be the parent record, and the resulting Related Task/Issue will appear within the Tasks/Issues Component as well as within the Kanban for the assigned user.

**The Task/Issue creation form** will be display. This form is similar as the Task/Issue Creation screen described earlier in this article, but will not contain the Process and Object field, as these properties will be inherited from the parent Task/Issue. The Float Issue toggle switch is also unavailable.

Configuration of the remainder of the Task/Issue is identical to the process described earlier in this article.

{% hint style="info" %}
Related Tasks and Issues can be created only for Process Instance-specific (i.e., non-Floating) parent work items.
{% endhint %}

## Who can add tasks and issues

Prior to version 8.2, any User that has been assigned a Work-Relay Permission Set can create an Issue for any Process Instance.

From version 8.2, only the Assignee, Process Manager, Process Admin, Instance Manager and Super Admin users are able to create Tasks and Issues for a Process Instance. Extending Issues permissions is configurable in the "[Additional Access](/processes/process-steps/process-step-settings/notifications-progress-component-settings.md#additional-access)" section in Process Settings.
