# Content

This tab displays files attached to a step, process instance, or record. This can be useful if a step, process, or record should have some additional instructions, documents, etc.

Files can be attached in different ways:

* Added to any step of the process in the "[Reference Material](/processes/process-steps/process-step-settings/reference-material.md)" section of step properties. These files are available to download, but can't be deleted from this tab (1).
* Added to the record the process instance is started at the record page. These files will be available at any step of any process instance started at this record, and can be permanently deleted directly from this tab (by clicking icon (2)), if you have proper permissions.
* Added to a process instance directly at this tab. To add a file, click the proper button (3) or drag and drop a file on it. After the uploading process finishes, a proper notification will be shown (4):
