# Components basic properties

To set up form component properties, click it (1) on a canvas and update basic "Settings" on the left (2).

**Title** - field/component label.

**Name** - field/component name that will be used in form actions, conditions etc.

**Instructions** - help text that will be displayed when hovering over field/component info icon (3) (available for source object fields and virtual fields only).

**Required** - makes field mandatory on the form.

**Read Only** - indicates field won't be editable on the form.

**Show On Edit Page** - field/component is displayed in form edit mode.

**Show On View Page** - field/component is displayed in form view mode.
